A metrocop (the least dangerous with simply a stun baton and an 9mm beretta pistol, shown here), a Combine Soldier (right in the middle with better armor, suit, and
packed with MP7 SMGs, not shown here), and the Combine Elite (the most dangerous with the most advanced armory and suit packed with pulse rifles, shotguns, and MP7 SMGs, not shown here).

Headcrab
The basic most alienated creatures of Half-Life 2, the headcrab can now latch off a killed host and is a bit stronger, as well as smart. The headcrab comes in three forms in HL2,
the basic one (seen here), the spider headcrab (the fastest one), and the poison headcrab (can poison you, but is the slowest).

Headcrab Zombie
Yes, those digusting mutated humanoid like things from the original Half-Life have returned in HL2, persistent and intelligent enough
to interact physically with the world (e.g picking up and throwing barrels at you) by any means to make sure you're dead. The Zombie can also continue to live if you've cut off half of it's body, as long as it's the bottom half. It comes, like the headcrab, in three forms:
Basic one (shown here), a fast, skeleton like one that can leap from place to place and swim underwater, and a slow, but poisoness one.

Antlion

Antlion Guard
The Antlion's big brother, the Antlion guards are much bigger and more fierce in terms of speed and damage, and cannot be controlled by the spore as far as seen like it's little brother. They are indeed no monsters to mess with, so you should be sure watch out for them!

Strider
One of the most dangerous enemies in HL2, Striders are Combine enhanced and controlled genetic aliens, massive on three legs, but slow. They're attacks are to whip or "smack" you at close range, or shoot a pulse laser instantly vaporizing anything in it's path. These foes seem invicible, but can be taken down by a few accurate RPG shots. At the head, that is!

Man Hack
Flying, circular robots with electrical, extremely sharp razors that will with no mercy chase you anywhere and attempt to slice you up until you cope with them. A few crowbar whacks should fling them off quickly enough.

Scanners
These enemies pose no weaponary, so they aren't exactly a "threat" but are the essential "picture framing" devices of City 17 and like to take your picture.. a lot. Any weapon will deal off with them quickly,
but a crowbar or a pistol is only really needed to destroy them.

ChoppersYup the enemy military helicopters from the original Half-Life have returned, now combine powered. Their airborne advantage allows them to follow you by great distances. Not only do the choppers
possess the normal gun turrets, but they also can now drop explosive mines in your path. Shooting them repeatedly and accurately with the mounted air-boat gun will bring them down.

Combine APC
The Combine Armored Personal Carriers deploy Combine Soldier reinforcements, and also have mobile, mounted missle turrets and a machine gun turret. APCs can't exactly be destroyed, only neutralized for a certain period of time, and should be quickly avoided at all costs of survival during combat.

Roller Mines
Another deadly but annoying small electrical enemy added to the fray, Roller Mines are blue glowing devices in Half-Life 2
that will when you're driving a buggy attach themselves to it and prevent the buggy from
operating at all. If they are on your foot, they will zap you with electricty. There's no real way to destroy them, it's only possible to get rid of them for a certain amount of time,
like using the gravity gun to shoot them into the ocean, for an example. You can find these roller mines
scattered across the roads outside City 17 near and along the coast.
