Pistol
A silver, gray, futuristic like pistol that appears to shoot more accurately than the 9mm beretta pistol found in the original Half-Life. This gun is good for picking off small enemies like
headcrabs from long distances.

Shotgun
The Italian SPAS-12 modeled shotgun from the original Half-Life has returned in Half-Life 2, and is now more
accurately based visually. It deals an substantial amount of damage, and it would be wise to only use it
against dangerous and fast enemies at close to medium ranges, like the under-water zombie. It's alternate fire
now fires just as fast as it's primary fire mode as well, but still spreads 2 pellets per shot.

Sub-Machine-Gun
Unlike the original Half-Life, HL2's SMG is based on an MP7. Unfortunately, it's coping damage
and alternate firing mode is far to weak range wise and damage wise than to be as useful as in the original HL.
But if you'd like an extra grenade launcher it's worth it.

Pulse Rifle
One of the newer weapons in HL2, which is the closest you'll find to an assault rifle, the Pulse Rifle is one of the combine weapons.
It's primary fire mode triggers a set of pulses of enhanced clips. It's alternate fire mode shoots out a super enhanced scientific dimenional "ball"
that seems to phase away enemies at contact. Unfortunately, due to quickly chewing away ammo and low accuracy, this weapon isn't too great to use.

Crossbow
As in the original Half-Life, this is an unrealistic "tranquilizer" like gun that allows you to very accurately but slowly
snipe enemies and is a water based weapon, which means it works perfectly under-water. In HL2, there isn't much of a difference, other
than the fact that it's detailed much greater and fires / reloads much slower.

RPG(Rocket Propelled Grenade) Launcher
The RPG Launcher hasn't changed much from the original Half-Life other then containing a more accurate automated-laser aiming tracker option and greater, grander detail. However, the laser aiming tracker can't
be turned off now, which isn't neccessarily a bad thing.

Gravity Gun
This is probably the most useful weapon in HL2. The Gravity Gun, AKA "Zero Point Manipulator", is a weapon that allows you to physically
control objects and fling them around at very pounding rates. It's a useful weapon for solving many physics based puzzles and for allowing you to escape
out of very tight situations. There's two versions of this weapon, one orange one (shown here) that allows you to manipulate objects from a distance, and one blue one (not shown here) that
using a special beam allows you to manipulate anything, but while causing damage.
